'Design at the Boundary 2016'

Arab Architect 1st International Conference

 Haifa, Nazareth, and Shafa-Amr, Israel

24 November 2016

(Abstract Submission deadline: May 31, 2016)

Introduction

Boundary is being crossed, rarely by accident, but mostly in purpose. Somewhere, it's being spanned, there it's being spaced, while in other places it has been a taboo. Can design and architecture challenge spatial boundaries? And in what shape can design deconstruct its tectonics. Is boundary a bliss? Or it’s just a barrier.

"A boundary is not that at which something stops but, as the Greeks recognized, the boundary is that from which something begins its presencing."   Martin Heidegger, from 'building, dwelling, thinking'

Scope

‘Design at the Boundary 2016’, 1st International Conference on Boundary and Design aims at establishing a state of the art event regarding the relationships between forms of boundary and design and the framework of sustainable design concepts.
